Tradition and Progress

Originating from a copper mill of 1482, ISABELLENHÜTTE brings together more than 500 years of tradition and experience in melting and processing of an extensive range of non-ferrous metal alloys. Meanwhile, ISABELLENHÜTTE has become one of the world’s most important manufacturers of alloys for resistance applications, thermoelectric alloys for temperature measurement and passive electrical components. The company meets their customers’ special and often extraordinary requirements with reference to highest precision and excellent quality by concentrating the various manufacturing steps in one factory: starting in the melting shop, passing the hot rolling mill, the wire drawing department, the insulating shop and the component department, the final product will leave our premises with the required physical and mechanical characteristics in accordance with national and international standards.

Transfer of ISABELLENHÜTTE into family Heusler’s propriety;
production of copper alloys and of nickel
(degree of purity: 96 - 98 %)

1868

Discontinuation of nickel production

1881

First manufacture of manganese (degree of purity: 98 %) as well as of manganese bronze (machine-building industry) and copper manganese alloys (for precision resistors); our latest production line is based on those CuMn
alloys - passive electrical components.

1952

Construction of the wire drawing department

1960

Construction of the wire enamelling department

1970

Modernization of the melting shop;
starting up the first EDP equipment

1980

Construction of the hot rolling mill;
development of first electrical components

1982

Installation of the first computer-aided production and control facilities as a basis of our quality assurance system; ISABELLENHÜTTE becomes member of Deutscher Kalibrierdienst (German calibration service)
