TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

The usage of HIA series resistors will expand circuit design limits significantly because they have precision resistor characteristics with low TC and are able to carry load at high ambient temperatures.

HIA series can effectively be used in all industrial, electrical, electronic and telecommunication equipment where large power dissipation is required (e.g. when used as a voltage divider or bleeder resistor in DC power supplies or for series dropping). They are generally satisfactory for use at frequencies up to 50KHz.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

HTA Series is unique due to its special flame proof ‘Thermo coat’ which resists hot spot temperature of 350°C and uses specially selected resistance elements and substrates. • HIP series of power type wire wound resistors have been specifically developed to cater to those OEM’s which have automated assembly facilities for TV’s and audio equipment.

Series RSR

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

In RSR series, a corrugated alloy tape is wound edgewise or flat onto a ceramic tube which is coated with a silicone cement which is compatible with UL standards. This ribbed construction puts both sides of the resistive element in contact with air thus creating a convention area four times greater than that obtained with normal wire wound resistors. These resistors are designed primarily to withstand heavy overload surges up to max 7 times their rated wattage for 10 to 15 seconds (max). This characteristic makes them most suitable for controlling motors requiring high dissipation, low resistance values and high current capacity.

Capacitor Discharge & Symmetry Vertical Mounting

 

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

• These high power wire wound resistors have low temperature rise stainless steel mounting lugs fitted to them at a pitch which is ideally suitable to mount on capacitors and are used mainly for voltage balancing of aluminum electrolytic capacitors connected in series.

• These resistors are also used in safety applications; wherein they have been found suitable for capacitor voltage discharge applications in high voltage circuits.
